Two McCook City Workers Found Dead In Sewer Plant Pump Room

Two McCook city employees died Sunday inside a sludge pumphouse at the city wastewater treatment plant.

No cause of death has been given for 65-year-old Larry Dicke and 43-year-old Kenneth Keslin, but a hazardous materials team was sent in to retrieve their bodies because of toxic gases inside the building.

McCook police says officers were sent to the sewer plant for a welfare check after one of the employees failed to return home from work.

Officers spotted the personal items of one of the men outside of the pumphouse, prompting a search inside and the discovery of the bodies.
