Two National Guard Members Test Positive After Helping Lincoln Police

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – Two members of the Nebraska National Guard who assisted Lincoln police during recent George Floyd protests have tested positive for coronavirus.

Both began to show symptoms of COVID-19 on Saturday, then were tested through Test Nebraska. Both are currently isolating.

Nearly 600 members of the National Guard were assigned to assist law enforcement agencies in Lincoln and Omaha on May 31 following several nights of protests in Nebraska.

A spokesman for the Guard says the plan is to test all personnel still on duty.
