LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) – The Nebraska State Patrol says three people were killed in two separate accidents on Interstate 80 in the Panhandle between Saturday and Monday
State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says the first occurred about 11:30 Saturday morning when 68-year old Roger Gillming of Kimball lost control of an SUV and it rolled at the Bushnell interchange.
His wife, 64-year old Schatzie Gillming, was ejected and died at the scene. He was flown to Regional West Medical Center, but his condition is not known.
The second accident was Monday evening about 6:00 near the Dix interchange and claimed the lives of a Nevada couple riding a motorcycle..
Thomas says 61-year old Michael Weigle of Reno and his 57-year old wife Laura were hit by a semi as they pulled onto the roadway from the shoulder. The Weigles were both pronounced dead at the scene while the truck driver from Georgia was unharmed.
