UNO, UNMC Eliminating Jobs As Part Of NU Budget Cuts

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – The two University of Nebraska campuses in Omaha will lay off 9 people and let about 16 vacant positions go unfilled as part of their share of $43 million dollars in budget cuts over the next 3 years system-wide.

Dr Jeffrey Gold, chancellor of both the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, says 6 of the position cuts will be at UNO and the other 3 at UNMC. Each campus faces more than $6 million in budget cuts as part of the university’s 3-year package.
