Update Meeting Sat 9:00 AM At The Mueller Center In Hot Springs On Planned Beef Plant

United Ranchers Co-op is holding an informational meeting this morning at 8:30 at the Mueller Center in Hot Springs to provide an update on its planned meat packing plant just south of the Hot Springs Airport.

Co-op President Neil Sanders says the project is still moving forward, but much more slowly than expected or hoped.

Co-op officials said at the May groundbreaking ceremonies for the plant that they hoped to have the 19,000-square foot  metal-construction building erected this fall, but there have been virtually no changes at the site.

Sanders says progress has been slowed by a variety of factors including the type of supply chain problems that have plagued a wide range of projects this year.

This morning’s Hot Springs meeting will also include an update on financing and membership in United Ranchers. Sanders says there are still 34 shares available.

Each costs $25,000 and entitles the owner to have up to 25 head of cattle butchered at the plant each year.
