GERING – Family and friends of Chance Engelbert, the Moorcroft, Wyo, and Edgemont native last seen in Gering a year ago will marked the anniversary tonight, July 6, with a walk and vigil in Gering.
Those wishing to participate are asked to meet at the Paul Reed Construction parking lot for the 7:00 walk, which will become a prayer vigil led by Pastor Tyson Lambertson of The Rock Church when it reaches Terry’s Lake.
Monica Ream, one of the organizers, says the walk and vigil are intended to remind the broad community that Engelbert is still missing and to support for his family, which is holding a similar event around the same time in South Dakota.
Ream, also one of the volunteers who’ve put in hundreds of hours searching hundreds of miles for Engelbert over the past year, says those efforts are continuing.
Ream says they search whenever they can get a few people together to go look and that Matt Miller, Chance’s best friend in the Moorcroft area, has brought down several big search teams during that same period.
