Warriors Sweep StormPosted by Kerri RemppDate: September 12, 202047 ViewsThe Sioux County Warriors swept the Creek Valley Storm 25-9, 25-18, 26-24 Friday.The Warriors went on a 7-0 run early in the first set and led 15-7 midway through. Two consecutive ace serves by Beth Krein kept Sioux County rolling to an 18-8 lead and kills by Skylar Edmund and Tamika Eastman help put the set away. The Warriors and Storm opened the second set tied at three before the Warriors went up 8-3 behind two blocks by Kodie Rempp, two kills by Karlee Juhnke and another kill by Edmund.Creek Valley clawed back into the contest to pull within one only to see the Warriors take the set back in hand with a 15-9 lead. The Warriors kept the storm out of the second set after that, never allowing them closer than six points. The Storm turned the momentum in their favor early in the third, taking a 4-3 lead. The set was tied at 4, 6 and 7 before the Warriors went on a run for a 12-7 advantage. Sioux County got stuck at 16 for five set points, allowing Creek Valley back into the contest.From there, the game swung back and forth with six ties from 16 to 22. The Storm took the go-ahead point at 23-22, but the Warriors held Creek Valley at 24 for five points to come from behind for the 26-24 set and game win.
