A one-night wake service starts Sunday, Feb 6, at 1:00 at the Bad Wound residence, 8 miles east of Martin, SD.
Wesley was born on December 11, 1931 to Daniel Bad Wound and Julia (Monroe) Bad Wound at the “Taopi Sica” homeland, more famously known as ‘Ten Bar’ for the branding that was put on the horses. He passed away peacefully on January 29, 2022 at the Bennett County Nursing Home in Martin, SD, where he was a long term resident and touched many lives.
Wesley is survived by his nieces & nephews, John Bad Wound Sr, Shirley Bad Wound, Everett Bad Wound, Peg Fosdick, Keith Bad Wound, Robert Bad Wound, and Jonathon Bad Wound Sr, and Vera Hoiten and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents Daniel Bad Wound and Julia (Monroe) Bad Wound; sisters Susan Bad Wound and Vera Bad Wound; brothers Wheeler Bad Wound, James Bad Wound, Gary Bad Wound, and D. Elgin Bad Wound Sr; and nephew Arnold James Blue Bird.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Bad Wound, Jr., Luke Bad Wound, Keith Bad Wound, Carl Standing Bear, Lenny Allison, and Justen Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Bennett County Nursing Home Staff, and All Friends & Relatives.
