Funeral services for 63-year old William “Dean” Cottier are Sat, Dec 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Cottier residence, 106 Dakota Ave. (Crazy Horse Housing) in Pine Ridge, SD, with Father Ed Hunt officiating.
Cremation will follow.
The services will be preceded by viewing from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, also at the Cottier residence. Please bring your own chair. A light lunch will be provided for Friends and Relatives
The family asks that everyone follow the guidelines of precautions against the spread of COVID 19 at both the funeral and visitation. Masks and Social Distancing are required.
William “Dean” Cottier was born on April 28, 1957 in Pine Ridge, SD to William H. Cottier, Jr. and Cecelia “Sister Babe” Shangreau-Cottier. William “Dean” made his journey to the Spirit World on November 25, 2020 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
William “Dean” is survived by his daughters, Nichole (Sky) Cottier of Rapid City, SD and Billi Jean (Dusty) Cottier of Austin, TX; son, Nicholas (Randi) Cottier of Rapid City, SD; siblings, Tom Cottier & family and Jim Cottier and family, both of Pine Ridge, SD and Roberta Mendoza of California; goddaughters, Kristie Tapio and Juleanna Martin; aunts/uncles, Tom and Ann Conroy, both o Batesland, SD, Emma Gallego of Rapid City, SD and Robert Eagle Elk of Pine Ridge, SD; (10) grandchildren, Tear, Ember, Josiah, Ty, LaKenzie, Kyden, Nick Jr., Cydney, Keon and Riley; great granddaughter, Lila Jacini; special friend, Jessica Short Bull of Pine Ridge, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
William “Dean” was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Cottier, Jr. and Cecelia “Sister Babe” Shangreau-Cottier; siblings, Darrell Cottier, Jerry Cottier, Sr. and Benita (Feather Earring) Cottier; grandparents, William H. Cottier, Sr. and Mary (Nelson) Cottier, Martin and Louise (Jones) Shangreau; and niece, Whisper Cottier.
