Wyoming Now At 8,761 Active COVID-19 Cases

The Wyoming Dept of Health reported 587 new cases of COVID-19 and 390 more recoveries on Monday as the number of active cases rose to 8,671.

Wyoming has now had 19,885 total cases with 11,070 recoveries, and 144 deaths.

Meanwhile, Teton County District Health Officer Dr Travis Riddell in the northwest part of the state is asking the state to approve tighter coronavirus safety measures in the county.

Currently, state coronavirus health orders prohibit gatherings of more than 50 people but Riddell says he feels it’s time to take more drastic action and is seeking a variance allowing the county to impose limits that are stricter than the state’s.

State Health Officer Dr Alexia Harrist has granted Teton County other variance in the past and would need to do so again. There’s no timeline on which Harrist will announce her decision.
