Memorial services for 67-year old Darrel Mesteth are Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD
Visitation precedes the funeral from noon-to-1:00, also at Our Lady of Sorrows in Kyle.

Darrel Lane Mesteth Sr was born on August 22, 1956 in Pine Ridge, SD to Lizzie (Bull Bear) and Levi Mesteth, Sr. Darrel made his journey to the Spirit World on April 9, 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Darrel was a USMC Veteran and was stationed at Camp Pendleton – WPNS CO 2/5. He re-enlisted in the 3rd MAW MCAS Tustin, later stationed at Mals-39 3rd MAW Camp Pendleton, CA. Darrel was honorably discharged in 1997.
Darrel attended his secondary education at the Oglala Lakota College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Lakota Studies. He was an OST Police Office for several years and later worked on Security until 2021 at the Little Wound School in Kyle, SD. Darrel participated in the Little Big Horn and Fort Robinson rides.
Darrel is survived by his sons, Derek Mesteth, Daryl Mesteth, and Jesse Mesteth; Agnes Randall, his former wife and mother of his children; nieces & nephews, Denise, Lori, Levi III, Kim, Anna, Shane, Travis, Brian, Charles, Chris, TJ, Leslie, Jayme, Aloysius, Brad, Channing, Chase, and Tristan; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, Lizzie & Levi Mesteth; siblings, Levi Mesteth II, Rose Mesteth, Carol Jean Mesteth, Peter Mesteth, and Verena Little Whiteman; and nephew, Sean Mesteth.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.
