Darrell Creighton Fast Horse was born on August 9, 1954 in Pine Ridge, SD to Joseph Fast Horse and Annie Broken Rope.

Darrell made his journey to the Spirit World on June 26, 2024 at his home in Rushville, NE.
Darrell was a selfless man who went through life helping others. He was a musician and loved playing the bass.

Darrell was not just a man; he was a guiding light, a mentor, and a source of unwavering love. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Eileen Wounded Shield-Fast Horse; children, Violet Fast Horse, Nichole Fast Horse, Serena Fast Horse, Craig Fast Horse, Dana Fast Horse, Kendra Fast Horse, Creighton Fast Horse, and Clarissa LaDeaux; sisters, Cecelia Spotted Bear and Patricia Cross; nephew, Jesse Wounded Shield; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Annie (Broken Rope) Fast Horse; son, William Joseph Fast Horse; brothers, Joe Fast Horse, Jr. and Talbert Fast Horse; sisters, Geraldine Fast Horse-Valandra, Arlene Valandra, and Violet Fast Horse; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary (Breaks Land) Fast Horse; and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Lucy (Black Bear) Broken Rope.

Pallbearers will be Donny Mesteth, Marvin Fire Thunder, Favian Kennedy, Xavier Buckley, Earnest Johnson, Harris Red Ear Horse, Alex Bad Bear, Robert Red Eagle, Ed Spotted Bear, and CJ Returns. Alternate pallbearer will be Luck Returns.

A two night wake service wills start at 1 pm on Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Pine Ridge Elementary School Gym in Pine Ridge. Second night starts at 11 am on Saturday July 6, 2024 at Fast Horse Creek.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Fast Horse Creek with Pastor Alex Bad Bear and Pastor Stanley Hollow Horn officiating.

Burial is at the Fast Horse Creek Cemetery at Fast Horse Creek in Wounded Knee, SD
