Jacklyn Short Bull was born on July 2, 1981 in St. Paul, MN to Bruce Short Bull and Bridgette Onnen. Jacklyn made her journey to the Spirit World on July 7, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Jacklyn is survived by her sons, Wakinyan Forney, Jordan Dreamer, and Landon Short Bull; daughters, Ohinniyan Short Bull and Brooklyn Short Bull; aunts, Judy White Dress and Georgene Short Bull; uncle, Theral Short Bull; grandchildren, Manaia Kingi-Forney and Onyx Short Bull; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jacklyn was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Short Bull and Bridgete Onnen; and paternal grandparents, Eugene and Edith (Frogg) Short Bull. Pallbearers will be Reagan Short Bull, Jr., Devin “Canku” Short Bull, Vernon Short Bull, Brian Featherman, Dean Short Bull, Eddie Short Bull, Paul “Flip” Wilson, Jonas Horse Looking, and Monte Eagle Louse.
Honorary pallbearers will be Denise Kills Back & Family, Short Bull Family, Sharpfish Family, Warrior Family, Forney Family, all friends & relatives.
A one night wake service for Jacklyn Short Bull will start at 1:30 on Tuesday July 16, 2024 at teh Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD. Evening Services at 7.
Funeral is at 1 on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Makason Presbyterian Church Hall in Oglala, SD with traditional Lakota services by Paul Forney. Asa Wilson is officiating.
Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery in Oglala.
