Pearl Agnes Pourier-Lyon

Pearl Agnes Pourier-Lyon was born on April 8, 1936 to Charles and Louise (Clifford) Pourier in Pine Ridge, SD. Pearl made her journey to the Spirit World on June 29, 2024 at her home in Rapid City, SD.

As a military wife she traveled to England and Okinawa, retiring in Colorado Springs, CO and eventually making her way back to her beloved Rapid City, SD. Pearl was employed by Bud and Helen Duhamel for several years as Helen and Bud’s caretaker.

Pearl was active in her community. She worked on the Lakota Community Homes Board, she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Kateri Tekakwitha Group, a faithful member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, and served on the St. Isaac Jogues Parish Board for several years.

Pearl will be remembered as a loving confidant to many, with a welcoming heart and open door to all who knew her. She had an infectious sense of humor but, had a feisty streak when she wasn’t in agreement with you. Life was never a dull moment with Pearl, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Lyon, Slade Lyon, Clint Warner, George Stephenson, Darrell Tognatti, Charles Pourier, Jr., Shawn Clemmons, Sr., Bob White, Bill White, and Elston Clifford.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of Pearl’s extended family and friends.
Pearl is survived by her daughter, Claudine (Jonathan Garza) Hunt; sons, Warren (Tami) Lyon and Robert (Tami) Lyon; sister, Mary Tognotti; grandchildren, Erika (Clint) Warner, Jesse (Kristina) Lyon, Tiffani Lyon, and Slade Lyon; eight great grandchildren; hunka son, George Stephenson; and a large extended family.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Louise Pourier; spouse, Ralph Lyon; son, Gaylen Lyon; grandsons, Kyle Lyon and Andrew Munson; sisters, Rose Clifford and Hattie Pourier; brothers, Edward and Charles Pourier; and her grandparents, John & Hattie Clifford.
Vigil Services: Vigil services will start at 6:00 PM, Friday, July 5, 2024 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD with visitation starting at 5:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be 10 AM on Saturday, July 6, 2023 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD with Father Ed Witt, S.J. and Father John Hatcher, S.J. officiating. Burial is to be held at a later date.
