A Rapid City man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for dealing drugs.
46-year old Michael Wilson had pled guilty in January to one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.Â
Wilson’s case began with a car chase in January last year. A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper saw Wilson make a U-turn on Interstate 90 near Spearfish by using a median crossing where such moves are banned.
Wilson refused to stop for the trooper and instead fled, triggering pursuit that ended when Wilson crashed his car in a housing development and fled on foot.
A search of the vehicle revealed nearly 3-pounds of methamphetamine, other illegal substances, and $11,400 in cash. The investigation also confirmed Wilson was the driver, leading to his eventual arrest.
