Forest Recreation Management (FRM) will be hosting their annual Half Price Pass Sale for the 2025 season on Friday, December 6, 2024.
This one-day sale will be held at The Lions Building on the Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid City, SD from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The passes will also be available for sale at Black Hills National Forest offices.
The 2025 Season Pass provides access to all Black Hills National Forest recreational facilities operated by FRM. Passes will be $25 (regularly $50). Please pay with cash or check; credit cards not accepted.
These passes are for USFS recreation facilities located within the Black Hills National Forest fee areas and should not be confused with South Dakota State Park Passes. The half-price sale does not include motorized trail permits or Christmas tree permits. Forest Service Offices are open Mondays through Fridays, except federal holidays. Please be advised that the Newcastle, Wyoming location will be closed on Friday, December 6.
Requests made by mail will be honored if postmarked between Dec 6-8. Send to FRM, PO Box 1168, Hill City, SD 57745. Please include a self-addressed return envelope with a check for the appropriate amount.
The number of passes available for purchase per individual is unlimited, making them great gifts for stocking stuffers, gift exchanges and prizes for drawings. No other discounts will be accepted with this offer. Those with senior or access passes as part of the America the Beautiful โ National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series can receive this reduced price any time during the year.
โIf buying your pass from a Forest Service office, donโt forget to pick up your Christmas Tree Permit, which is also available,โ said Bradley Block, Recreation Program Manager, Black Hills National Forest. โOur non-profit partner, Black Hills Parks & Forests Association (BHPF) is also offering 20% off on items for sale at our offices on Wednesday through Friday, December 4-6. These items are great stocking stuffer ideas. Proceeds go to support interpretive and educational programming on the Forest.โ The 20% off sale includes Smokey Bear souvenirs, lapel pins, hiking medallions, coffee mugs, patches, childrenโs books, trail guides, and an array of other Forest-themed products; BHPF memberships and USGS maps are not included in the sale.
Under a special use permit, FRM operates Black Hills National Forest campgrounds and other recreation facilities. FRM has been operating these facilities since 1999.
