3 Eagles Receive RMAC Softball Honors

Three members of the Chadron State College softball team have received postseason honors from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

3rd Baseman  Lauren Zimmerman is 2nd-Team All-Conference with catcher Mackenzi Kroll Honorable Mention, both for the 2nd straight year. while OF Jessie Henchenski  was named to the RMAC Gold Glove Team, recognizing the league’s top defensive players.

After receiving honors a season ago as a utility player, Zimmerman started all 50 games at 3rd base this season
 
The junior from Reno, Nevada, led the Eagles offensively with a batting average of .363 and 57 hits and was 2nd with 40 RBIs. Defensively, Zimmerman finished the year with 108 assists and a fielding percentage of .899.
 
Kroll, a senior from Brighton, CO,  earned her second consecutive honorable mention selection after being CSC’s mainstay at catcher the previous two seasons.
 
Defensively, Kroll tied for 1st in the conference by throwing out 10 attempted stolen bases. Offensively, she hit .311, led CSC with 14 home runs, 12 doubles, and 41 RBIs. She also broke the school record for homers in a career with
 
Henchenski, a senior from Fort Collins, CO, led the Eagles defensively with a single error in 68 total chances in the outfield, a fielding percentage of .985 to earn Gold Glove honors. She also had 62 put outs and 5 assists while leading the Eagles offensively with 42 runs-scored.
