The first of two preliminary rounds the 77th Annual Miss South Dakota Scholarship Competition in Brookings were held last night. This year’s theme is Swingin’ Glam.
The 20 contestants are split into two groups with Miss Hot Springs Sydney Morgan the fitness winner for the Sigma group and Miss Rolling Prairies Joelle Simpson was the Delta group talent winner with a number on the harp.
Simpson was also one of the top 3 in the online People’s Choice voting – which closed last night. The winner will be guaranteed a spot in the semifinals.
The groups will flip tonight for the second preliminary round. The finals and the crowning of the new Miss South Dakota are tomorrow starting at 5:30 MT with a pay-per-view livestream available.
