After Allan graduated from Julesburg High School, he served as a distribution clerk for the US Army and was later honorably discharged.
Allan married Carol J Adamson on New Year’s Day 1996 and moved to Alliance, where Allan enjoyed his job of caring for the Library, the Knight Museum and other various buildings for over 14 years until he retired. He always said his job with the City of Alliance was the best job he ever had. After retirement they enjoyed some time in Arizona and Colorado before settling in Scottsbluff, NE.
Allan was well known for his ability to always make light of any situation and his ever-present humor and smile. Allan never met a kid he didn’t like and absolutely loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
