Robert Lyle Young was born on June 10, 1952 in Pine Ridge, SD to Lionel Francis Young and Darlene Siers. Robert made his journey to the Spirit World on June 2, 2024 in Basin, WY – passing away 8 days away from turning 72.
Robert joined the United States Marine Corp and served his country for 4 years and was honorably discharged on October 8, 1976.
He married Kitty Young on July 31, 1984 in Blythe, CA. Together they had five children: Tonya Hatch, Robert Lyle Young Jr, Lional Francis Young, Edleman Lee James Young, and Kitten Carlisle Young, who they loved and cherished.Â
Robert was not always the greatest role model, but was always there. He always knew how to make you laugh, telling the funniest stories from his younger years. Being a Marine, he was proud to be one with the Jarheads.
Robert loved listening to music of any kind, he kids would play their kind of music and he would always listen to it. He also loved crossword puzzles and playing games on a tablet or kindle.
Before he took ill, Robert started reading the Bible and continued even after. He believed in the Resurrection and knew he would be brought back to life one day.
Robert loved his family dearly; he sometimes had a strange way of showing it, but he always told me that he would die for us. He will be missed, until the day we can all be together again, I love you dad.
Robert is survived by his wife Kitty Young of Hot Springs, SD; children Tonya Hatch, Robert Lyle Young Jr, Lional Francis Young, Edleman Lee James Young, Kitten Carlisle Young, Terry Mardell Young, and Josh Martin; sisters Wanda Young of Hot Springs and Charlene (Young) Means of Phoenix, AZ; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren all of whom he loved dearly.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Lional Young and Darlene Siers; son Evan Young; brother David Wayne Young; and sister Loretta Petroski-Young.
