The Chadron Volunteer Fire Department is making an appearance at the Walmart parking lot today. Fortunately however, it’s not due to any kind of emergency situation. They are holding their annual combined fundraising event for the organization, alongside Walmart’s current fundraising campaign, The Children’s Miracle Network.
From 10-4 today, July 6, at Walmart, you can stop by and enjoy some hot dogs, chips and a drink for a free will donation that will be used to benefit both the local fire department and the Children’s Miracle Network. A fire truck will also be there for you to check out and real firefighters will be nearby for you to ask any questions or maybe even try on some real firefighting gear.
Every summer, Walmart stores across the country run a fundraising campaign for The Children’s Miracle Network.
CMN was founded more than 40 years ago and has raised over $9 billion for 170 children’s hospitals across the country. They fund what’s needed most including critical life saving treatments and healthcare services, medical equipment, and child life services that puts families minds at ease during hospital stays.
The money raised by our local Walmart here in Chadron gets sent to the closest CMN hospital in Colorado.
