Jeanette Rena Bettelyoun was born on February 14, 1956 in Pine Ridge, SD to Hobart and Mary (American Horse) Marshall. Jeanette made her journey to the Spirit World on July 8, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Hermus Bettelyoun, Joni Bettelyoun, Kimberly Bettelyoun, Elizabeth Bird Bettelyoun, Ben (Lisa) Marshall, Maria Standing Bear, Patrick Bettelyoun, Isaiah Marshall, Dawn Marshall, and Tamera Marshall; sisters, Shirley Marshall and Lavina Faulk; grandchildren, TJ, Damien, Jacory, Hayana, Joseph, Davyon, Hermus Jr., Jalen, Alexis, Kenneth, Kailey, Kyrie, Khloe, Izabella, MJ “Deuce”, Abel, Harley, Angelisa, Adrianna, Rosie, Jerrad, Drew, and Rhiannon; 8 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Clint, Hobe, Trina, Quentin, Latonna, Ben, Jay, Zack, Jedi, and Marie Kay; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her spouse, Joseph Oz Bettelyoun; daughters, Stacy Marshall and Twylita Bettelyoun; parents, Hobart and Mary (American Horse) Marshall; brothers, Benjamin Marshall, Hobart Nick Marshall, and Kenneth Marshall; sister, Gladys Marshall; grandson, Robert Faulk, Jr.; nephew, Robert Faulk; and niece, Tanya Marshall.
Pallbearers will be James Blevins, Akicita Marshall, William Bettelyoun, Joseph Shangreaux, Jerrad Terkildsen, Sr., Joseph Cottier, Troy American Horse, Emil American Horse, Donald Richards, and Quentin Marshall.

A two night wake service for Jeanette Bettelyoun starts at 3 on Wednesday July 17, 2024 at the Activity Center in Martin, SD with evening services at 7.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday July 19, 2024 at the Activity Center with Pastor John Poff officiating and traditional Lakota Services by Steve DuBray.
Burial will be at the Grace Cemetery in Martin.
