The countdown until students are back in Chadron and on the campus of Chadron State College. But there is one unknown for one team on campus as softball coach Kaley Ness has taken a new job. Ness has been at the helm of Eagle softball for the past seven years, has taken the head coach job at Northern State in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Under Ness the Eagles posted one of their best seasons in recent history in 2024 when they went 27-26, including 25-19. During her tenure in Chadron the Eagles had 28 all-conference players, including a RMAC pitcher of the year, co-freshman of the year and the program’s first All-American in 2019.
