The Chadron Police Department had an active weekend with two separate incidents taking place outside Walmart.
According to Chadron Police Lieutenant Gabe Walz, one of their license plate readers detected a vehicle with a warrant out of Lancaster and Gordon counties. After officers found and confirmed the vehicle and suspect at the Walmart parking lot, the suspect was taken into custody on misdemeanor charges.
A few hours later, officers responded to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian outside the front door. According to Walz, a 70 year old female was cited for reckless driving. The Chadron Rescue Unit was also dispatched for medical assistance.
