Herman Stewart Good Voice Flute was born on June 23, 1976 in Pine Ridge, SD to Herman Good Voice Flute, Sr. and Geraldine Yellow Horse. Herman made his journey to the Spirit World on October 7, 2024 near Oglala, SD.
Herman is survived by his brother, Reginald Big Crow; adopted brothers, William Jumping Eagle, Jr., Frankie Jumping Eagle, Roger Jumping Eagle, Lenny Jumping Eagle, Eddie Jumping Eagle, Billy Bob Jumping Eagle, Brian Rowland, and David Gibbons, Jr.; sisters, Monica Good Voice Flute and Hermania Clarke; adopted sisters, Lisa DeLeon-Jumping Eagle, Irene Jumping Eagle, Elizabeth Jumping Eagle, Arlene Jumping Eagle, Marci One Feather, Angie Yellow Horse-Richards, and Lucy Seda; adopted daughter, Kourtney J.M. Mesteth; adopted mother, Donna Jumping Eagle; adopted grandchildren, Emily Two Bulls, David Star, and Edward Star; aunts, Naomi Yellow Horse, Donna Crow, Audrey Jumping Eagle, Roberta Spencer, Starlette Jumping Eagle, and Delores Jumping Eagle; uncles, Rick Good Voice Flute and Phillip Jumping Eagle, Sr.; nephew, Gage Clarke, Kye Brewer, and Parker Brewer; nieces, Kiana, Karen, Kiya, Kerra, Kelly, and Krishauna Trueblood, Lynn Afraid of Bear; brother-in-law, Edward Clarke; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Good Voice Flute, Sr. and Geraldine Yellow Horse; sisters, Theresa Standing Bear and Sarita Jumping Eagle; brothers, Roy Jumping Eagle, Abraham Big Crow, Duane Good Voice Flute, and Thomas Black Eyes; hunka father, Billy Jumping Eagle, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Levi Good Voice Flute, Sr. and Bertha (Bear Stops) Good Voice Flute; and maternal grandparents, Alfred & Sophia (Bird Eagle) Yellow Horse.
