Nebraska Ranks Top Ten in Recent Trick-or-Treat Study

Loading

A recent study by Kuru Footwear found the top 10 states for trick-or-treating this Halloween season. Similarly to 2023 results, Nebraska cracked the list again.

โ€œThe night’s forecast calls for a comfortable 61 degrees, providing a cool backdrop for candy-seeking,โ€ the explanation continued. โ€œPlus, with a low pedestrian death rate of just 1.17 per 100,000 people, it’s also a safe state for trick-or-treaters to hit the streets.โ€

Kuru claims ratings were calculated based on pedestrian safety, residents under the age of 18, Google search data related to โ€œHalloweenโ€, state โ€œwalkability scoreโ€ and forecasted temperatures for Halloween evening.

Of course, other ways to stay safe during Hallows Eve- regardless of where- you are include:

  • Having children trick-or-treat with an accompanying adult.
  • Opting for face paint instead of masks to prevent visual obstruction.
  • Making kids wait to eat candy until inspected by adults.
  • And wearing layers and warm clothing for cool autumn temperatures.
