Dennis Conrad Running Hawk, Jr. was born on January 24, 1965 in Pine Ridge, SD to Dennis Running Hawk, Sr. and Lenora (Bear Robe) Running Hawk. Dennis made his journey to the Spirit World on October 7, 2024 in Rapid City, SD.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sherry Steele-Running Hawk; sisters, Maxine Janis, Louella Youngman, Denise “Sissy” Yellow Boy, Victoria Castrejon, Iris Flying Horse-Janis, and Veatrice Running Hawk; brothers, Donald Running Hawk, Royce Yellow Boy, Dale Garnier, Floyd “Sonny Boy” Running Hawk, Leo Calvin Yellow Boy, and Richard Flying Horse, children, Lyndon Running Hawk, Sarah Running Hawk-Nickles, Crystal Brothers, Frankie Brothers, Sage Brothers, and Shelby Steele; nieces, Megan, Alex, Annie, Marguerite, and Trinity Janis; cousins, Vienna Janis, Heather Janis, and Clarissa Steele; nephews, Louis, Charles, Franklin, Raymond, Thomas, Vern, & Hermis Janis, Billy Joe Haas, Lester Walking, Sr., Julian & Zach Yellow Boy, and Derek Yellow Boy; aunt, Joyce Bear Robe; and grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Leamoni, Claudia Nickles, Aaron Nickels, Everette, Stormy, Hayden, Kaia, Matthew, Cole, Haisley, Michael, and Azariah.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Running Hawk, Sr. and Lenora (Bear Robe) Running Hawk; parents, Floyd and Lorita Running Hawk; brothers, Larry, Alex, Darrell, and Donavan Running Hawk, Philip Ward, and Bob Pat Richards; sister, Karen Walking; grandson, John Haas, Jr.; and nieces & nephews, Gilma Haas, John Haas, Nicolas Janis, Michael Steele, and Tricia Steele.
