Brad Lee Goff passed away Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 in Chadron Nebraska at the age of 66. Brad was born August 8,1958, in Chadron, Nebraska, shortly after his twin brother, Scot, creating a dynamic duo known ever after as “the twins”. He grew up with his parents, Bobbie and Sharon Goff and siblings Robyn, Chari, Traci, Scot, Mara and Jay in the Deadhorse Community of Dawes County where he had miles to explore and develop his fierce independence.
Brad attended Flag Butte School District #18 and Chadron High School. He graduated in 1976 and proudly represented the Cardinals at the State Wrestling Tournament in Lincoln under coach Kent and Planansky. As a young man he apprenticed with Walt Haag and later founded Goff Construction, which specialized in concrete. Many homes, ranches, schools, towns and businesses benefitted from his physical prowess, elite expertise, dedication to perfection, mathematical engineering and creativity. No job was too challenging for him and his coworker Bart Edwards. Brad’s talents with wood created beautiful furniture, staircases, cabinets, ceilings and paneling which are truly works of art and will be cherished by generations to come.
From childhood, Brad was an avid outdoorsman and naturalist. His knowledge of nature, plants and animals was vast. He enjoyed hunting both big game and small and fishing no matter the weather. Brad loved music, especially classic country western, which brought him joy to the end of his days. Many a Saturday night found Brad dancing in towns far and near. He rarely passed a chance to invite the unsuspecting into a game of hi-low pitch. Brad was a storyteller, as a little boy he regaled his family with “Grandfadder Adventures”. His tales of his own daring adventures are legendary, many even true! Brad’s other interests included old western movies, flying model airplanes, horses, skiing, anything old with wheels or a engine, and trying just about anything at least once!
Brad will be missed by generations of family, friends, and his Springer Spaniel Mitchell. Although no formal services are planned at this time, please remember Brad in stories and song and always lay your Stetson brim side up!
