Among all of the things with fall, one thing that will perhaps affect our biological clocks is the time change. Daylight Savings Time, which began earlier this year in March, will end this coming weekend on November 3, which means everybody will have to remember to set clocks back by an hour before going to bed Saturday night.
If you have a smart device, the change will typically show automatically. However alarm clocks and automotive clocks will have to be adjusted manually to avoid waking up an hour earlier than expected.
The time change is also a good reminder to change the batteries in your home’s smoke alarms. Studies show that one in five home smoke alarms don’t work the way they are supposed to due to old or faulty batteries.
Although you should always follow manufacturer recommendations, batteries should be replaced periodically or whenever they are no longer functional, which is why changing them whenever the time changes is a good rule to follow.
