The City of Chadron has ended its search for a city clerk.
The council Monday offered the position to interim city clerk Katie Parks, who accepted the job. She will be paid $30/hour or $62,400 annually.
“It’s going to be a good move for the city,” said council member Shane Shepherd. Parks was approved unanimously by the council, which also discussed drafting a contract similar to the city manager contract to spell out expectations for the position.
Parks replaces Donna Rust, who retired at the end of September after more than 50 years with the city.
