Leona Mae Little Killer-Richards was born on June 15, 1935 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leon Owen Little Killer and Margaret Hazel Randall. Leona made her journey to the Spirit World on November 5, 2024 at her home in Mission, SD.

Leona is survived by her sisters, Geraldine Shangreaux and Rita Shangreaux; children, Margaret Joann Richards, Minneapolis, MN, Verla Perry of Minneapolis, MN, Jacqueline Richards of Minneapolis, MN, Rudy Richards of Rapid City, SD, Sam Richards of Minnapolis, MN, Deloris Richards-Cross of Mission, SD, Ralph Richards of Tampa, FL, Alfred Richards of Willmar, MN and Charles Richards of Martin, SD; 35 grandchildren; 85 great grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Adam Richards, Sr.; mother, Margaret Hazel Shangreaux; father, Leon Own Little Killer; sons, Clyde Owen Richards; and brothers, Franklin โ€œDugansโ€ Little Killer, Thomas Shangreaux, and two brothers in infancy.

Pallbearers will be C.J. Old Lodge, Lee Anne Old Lodge, Scirgio Iron Shell, Scottie Richards, Bill Brave Bird, Jax Crow Dog, Regenald Little Killer, Theresa Eastman, Ehoni Clelland, Jacob Cottier, Bill Amiotte, and Bob Amiotte.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alfred Richards, Jr., Leon Richards, John Hervey, Louie Hodge, Stevie Perry, Johnny Pawnee Leggins, Ralph Richards, Gloria Standing Soldier, Norman Standing Soldier, Chaske McDonough, Malcolm McDonough, Jerrice โ€œCankuโ€ Clyde Pawnee Leggins, Angelle Jane Mendoza, Ariel Compean, Maurice Mendoza,Sinte Little Killer, Sage Little Killer, Ryan Little Killer, Little Killer Family, Standing Soldier Family, Richards Family, Cottier Family, Bush Family, Brown Eyes Family, Conroy Family, Red Willow Family, Nicole Whalen, Officer Wright of the Rosebud Police Department, and a special thanks to the Rosebud IHS Security guard named T.J. and the EMTs who assisted the family with our dear Unci,  and All Friends & Relatives that we may have forgotten. 

Wake Services: Two-night wake service starting at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at the LaCreek CAP Office with evening services to start at 7:00 PM each night. 

Funeral Services: 10:00 AM, Friday, November 15, 2024 at the LaCreek CAP Office.

Traditional Lakota Services: Gilly Running and Richard Moves Camp  

Burial Services: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hisle, SD
