A 2024 “best states” list by usnews.com, found Nebraska ranked top 3 among all 50 United States according to the 70,000 Americans who were surveyed.
Several factors were taken into consideration when ranking our nation’s 50 states. These included each state’s economy, healthcare, infrastructure, opportunity, education, natural environment, and public safety.
Out of the 8 aforementioned criteria, Nebraska ranked in the top half in every category- with top 10 rankings in natural environment (#9), infrastructure (#4), and fiscal stability (#3).
Other notable states included New Hampshire at #2, Utah at #1, and Nebraska’s eastern neighbor, Iowa, at #8. Just outside the top 10 came two other Cornhusker neighbors: South Dakota at #11 and Wyoming at #12.
