South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley and state law enforcement are urging drivers to pay attention to the road after two officers were injured in different crashes on Tuesday according to dakotanewsnow.com.
On I-90 in Jackson County, an SUV rear-ended Jackson County Sheriff Tucker Amiotte, causing injury to Amiotte and crushing the tailgate to the rear wheel.
The deputy and other driver are expected to be okay.
South Dakota Highway Patrol also took to social media to warn drivers to be aware after a trooper on I-29 in Union County was rear-ended while using their amber lights.
The trooper suffered minor injuries.
โSouth Dakotans support their law enforcement officers, and today was a reminder of the dangers our officers face in the line of duty,โ said Attorney General Jackley.
Drivers are reminded to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles parked on roadways.
