Ohio Man Arrested in Northeast NE in Monday Pursuit

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested one person following a pursuit in northeast Nebraska Monday.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. Monday, NSP was notified that Thurston County deputies were in pursuit of a Ford Focus on Highway 9 near Emerson. Troopers responded to the area to assist. As the vehicle entered Dakota County on Highway 35, a trooper successfully deployed stop sticks to slow the vehicle. Troopers then took over the pursuit.

After approximately one mile, the vehicle drove off the roadway and into a ravine. The driver then attempted to flee on foot. A trooper then deployed a taser and the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect has been identified as Kerry Moore, 50, of Cleveland, Ohio. He was medically cleared at the Pender Hospital and then turned over to the Thurston County Sheriffโ€™s Office for charges.
