COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. โ Four Chadron State athletes earned recognition for their combined work on the gridiron and the classroom as they were named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team, announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Senior tight end Peter Krohn earned selection to the first team offense, junior linebacker Logan O’Brien and senior defensive end Hunter O’Connor made the first team defense while junior punter Brodie Eisenbraun was selected to the first team special teams unit.
The first team picks are a culmination of career success for Krohn and O’Connor, who were selected to the honor roll in each of the past three seasons but now get All-Academic First Team nods for the first time in their careers.
It is the second career first team selection for O’Brien, who was also picked in 2023, and Eisenbraun, who previously made the first team back in 2022.
In addition to the four first team picks, Chadron State had 15 other athletes named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll โ Rylan Aguallo, Liam Blaser, Griffin Clubb, Koye Gilbert, Reed Henkel, Reese Jacobs, Zachary Kapushion, Simeon Marton, Tucker McGinnis, Chase Nelson, Preston Pearson, Sutton Pohlman, Garet Schlabs, D’Anthony Smith and Rylan Wehr.
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport who academically maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution, and have used a season of competition.
Each institution’s athletic communications directors nominate student-athletes who academically maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, along with the other criteria for the Academic Honor Roll, for recognition on the First Team Academic All-RMAC in each sport. The league’s athletic communications directors for that sport vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their own student-athletes.
