The Chadron Cardinals girls wrestling team went on a long road trip over the weekend to the central time zone. The Cardinals started the weekend in Schuyler for the Schuyler girls invite on Friday then went to Grand Island Northwest High School for a tournament with four other teams. 

The weekend for the Cardinals started on Friday at the Schuyler girls invite. The girls came in finishing first as a team their past four tournaments but slipped a little, finishing eighth as a team. 

Addison Diers was the highest finishing Cardinal, getting her first of two silver medals on the weekend at 155. Taylee Williamson at 110, Bristol Prado at 120, and Adday Tewahade at 145 all took third place. Vivian Golemiewski was the final girl who placed with a sixth place finish at 170. Josey Werner at 105, and Gianna LaPorte at 130 went 1-2. Graycen Oโ€™Donnell also competed for the Cardinals at 140.

The Cardinals ventured two hours west for a quick stop in Grand Island on the way home. The Cardinals wrestled well, bringing home three individual titles in the five team invite. Josey Werner went 3-0 and got first at 105, Taylee Williamson did the same at 110. Joining them at the top of the podium was Graycen Oโ€™Donnell at 140. Finishing second at 120 was Bristol Prado who fell in the first place match to go 2-1. Adday Tewahade made it to the finals at 145 as well but fell in the second period to finish in second place. Addison Diers got her second silver medal of the weekend at 155 along with Vivian Golembiewski finishing second at 170. Gianna LaPorte rounded out the Cardinals effort with a fourth place finish at 130. 

The Cardinals girls will be off till Friday when they wrestle in the Hemingford Girls invite then will host a tournament on Saturday at Chadron State College.
