Shirley Mae Mousseau was born February 23, 1957 in Rushville, NE to Paul Mousseau and Lucille Palmier-Mousseau. Shirley made her journey to the Spirit World on January 13, 2025 at her home in Calico, SD
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Mousseau, Elmarie (Jon) Batten, and Tanya (Jamie) Tobacco; grandchildren, Thomas Red Hawk, Jr., River Forney, Trevor(Chrissa), Trenton, Tyler, & Talyssa Herman, Zaiden Tobacco-Brave Heart, Darius Thunder Hawk, Adaline Batten, Ashley White Plume, Alan White Plume, and Lenny White Plume; great-grandchildren, Laina & Bohdi Crantz; sister, Barbara Mousseau(Milton) & Family; nieces, JoAnn Mousseau & Family, Laura Mousseau & Family; nephews, Andy Weston & Family and Lyle Mousseau & Family; hunka sister, Ruth Mesteth-Grey Horse; hunka-son, Harley “Mister” Cortier, Jr.; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Marvin Paul Mousseau; father, Paul Mousseau; mother, Lucille Mary Palmier-Mousseau; brothers, Felix Mousseau, Daniel Mousseau, and Marvin Mousseau.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Red Hawk, Jr., River Forney, Trevor Herman, Trenton Herman, Tyler Herman, Darius Thunder Hawk, Zaiden Tobacco, and Alan White Plume.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Holy Rosary Class of 1977, and All Friends & Relatives.
Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Rosary Services starting at 7:00 PM.
