The Chadron State College Music department has announced the dates for performances for the spring 2025 semester. All concerts and recitals are open to the public and free of charge.
Kicking off the semesterโs events, the CSC Jazz Band will perform Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom as part of Martin Luther King Jr. Week.
Next, the High Plains Band and Choir Festival will take place on Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. in Memorial Hallโs Auditorium, bringing together talented musicians from the region.
Later in February, the Music Faculty Showcase will highlight the talents of CSCโs faculty members on Feb. 16, from 3 to 5 p.m., in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Centerโs Chicoine Atrium.
The Honors Recital follows on March 2, from 3 to 5 p.m., also in the Sandoz Center Atrium.
March 25, a collaborative concert will take place featuring Chadron Public Schools, the Chadron State Wind Symphony, and the CSC Community Symphonic Band from 7 to 9 p.m. in Memorial Hallโs Auditorium.
On March 27, CSC will host its College Musician for a Day event, an immersive experience for aspiring musicians. It runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium. Details are available at CSC College Musician for a Day.
The CSC Percussion Ensemble will perform March 29, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium, showcasing dynamic rhythms and techniques.
April performances begin with the Chadron State Wind Symphony and Community Band concert scheduled for April 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Memorial Hallโs Auditorium.
The CSC Concert Choir and Community Choir will present a concert April 6, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Chadron Arts Center, offering a blend of vocal performances.
On April 12, the New Music concert will feature original compositions by members of the community. The event will take place at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium.
The CSC Jazz Band will return for another performance April 14, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium. This will be followed by a Vocal Jazz concert on April 15, from 7 to 8 p.m., also in the Memorial Hall Auditorium.
The spring semester will conclude with the CSC Guitar Ensembleโs performances on May 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the COIL Planetarium.
