Both Chadron State College basketball teams defeated the Westminster Griffins from Salt Lake City Thursday night in Chadron.
CSC point guard Kyra Tanabe banked a long 3-pointer off the glass to tie the score at 20-20 at halftime of the womenโs game. The Lady Eagles were much more productive in the second half, outscoring their guests 43-23 to win the game 63-43. CSC had balanced scoring with Tanabeโs 11 points leading the way.
The Chadron State men won their game 71-59 behind 21 points from 6-foot-11 Darrius Miles whose output included three 3-pointers and a couple of dunks Trey Ballard added 17 points and Zy Wright 15 for the Eagles, who are now 8-9 for the season and 4-5 in the conference.
Both Chadron State teams will be at home Saturday afternoon against Colorado Mesa. The double-header will begin at 1 oโclock.
