MONDAY UPDATE – Chadron Fire Chief Branden Martens says the fire that occurred this past weekend on the 100 block of Chapin Street is currently under investigation by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Martens sends his gratitude to the Chadron Police Department on scene for their rapid response in helping the occupants to safety.
Martens also praised his crew for their response and quick actions. The chief stated, “They did really well especially for the cold conditions.” Crews were able to keep the blaze outside of the living area of the structures.
ORIGINAL STORY – The Chadron Volunteer Fire Department was called into action during the early morning hours of Saturday for a structure fire on the 100 block of Chapin Street. The crew was dispatched from a third party report at 1:45, and by 5:30 Saturday morning, all responding fire units were relieved from the scene and sent back to the fire hall.
