Wade Wasserburger, 62, of Hay Springs, Nebraska, passed away on February 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 5, 1962, in Crawford, Nebraska, Wade grew up with a strong sense of faith, immense kindness shared with all who met him, and an unwavering commitment to hard workโ€”values that would define his life and legacy.

Wade attended high school in Edgemont, South Dakota, where he began cultivating the traits that would make him beloved by all who knew him. In 1986, he married Lynn McMichael in a small ceremony in Edgemont. With this union, Wade became not only a devoted husband but also an instant father and hero to his two children. His dedication to his family was unmatched; he led with kindness and humor while teaching the importance of hard work through his actions.

A true rancher at heart, Wade found joy in everything related to ranch life. His days were filled with purpose as he worked tirelessly to care for the land and livestock that were so dear to him until he retired in 2022.  He was known for his honesty, humility, humor and steadfast faithโ€”a faith that guided every decision he made and never wavered even when faced with the challenges of lung cancer.

Wadeโ€™s influence extended far beyond his immediate family. He had a remarkable ability to turn friends into family through his warmth and generosity. Those who met him couldnโ€™t help but love him; his kind spirit left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

Wade is survived by his loving wife of nearly 39 years, Lynn Wasserburger; his children Jeremy Wasserburger (Tonya) and Carissa Elliott (Garret); his cherished granddaughters Cali Ehlers (Barry), Faith Rohrbouck (Matthew), Kaylie Elliott (Scott), and Naomie Elliott; his twin brother Wayne Wasserburger (Mary); his sister Diane Clark (Kacey); father-in-law Jim McMichael; sister-in-law Debbie Hankins; brother-in-law Rick McMichael (Susan); as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored him. He also leaves behind countless friends who became like family over the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henrietta and Dale Wasserburger; his mother-in-law Verl McMichael; and his brother Melvin Wasserburger.

Wadeโ€™s life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and perseverance. He taught those around him not only how to work hard but also how to live fullyโ€”with laughter, kindness, and integrity. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.

May Wadeโ€™s enduring legacy bring comfort to those who loved him deeply.
