Memorial services for 80-year old Dannie Barcal of Chadron, NE, are Thurs, Sept 1, 2022 at 10:00 at the United Methodist Church in Crawford, NE.
Services will also be live-streamed via the Chamberlain Chapel FaceBook page.
Burial will follow at the Crawford City Cemetery.

Dannie Barcal was born on April 19, 1942, in Lusk, Wyo, to Frank J and Angie V (Barcal) Hamaker. He passed away on August 26, 2022, at Rapid City, SD.
Dannie’s early years were spent living in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Oregon before finally settling in the Crawford area, where he attended Crawford Public Schools. Following school, Dannie ranched and was later employed by the Beef Research Center at Fort Robinson.Â
When the Beef Center relocated to Clay Center, NE, Dannie joined his father, Frank, in the carpentry business for many years. After working for Dawes County Road Department briefly, he retired from the Crow Butte Uranium Mining Company.Â
Dannied continued to live north of Crawford on the White River, where he enjoyed performing with his guitar and rock hunting.Â
Dannie was married to Cheryll A. Smith on August 12, 1962. To this union was born D.J. (Rose) of La Vista, NE, Colleen (David) Mink of Burleson, Texas, and Lori (Paul) Beaver of Crawford. Dannie would marry Verona Meckem on June 30, 1986 in Hot Springs, South Dakota and celebrate 36 years of laughter and love together. Â
Dannie is survived by his wife Verona, sisters Darlene Barcal of Billings, MT, and Charlene Vail of Crawford, his children, stepdaughters Rhonda (Dan) Backens of Virginia and Sandi (Towai) Madler of Colorado, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.Â
He was proceeded in death by his parents and grandson Keanne Mead.Â
