Burial is at the Messiah Episcopal Cemetery, Wounded Knee, SD
A two-night wake service starts at 3:00 PM, Sat, Oct 8, at 3:00 at the C Bear Gymnasium in Batesland, SD, with evening services both nights at 7:00.
Aquinnah Schuyler High Hawk was born on January 28, 1999 in Pine Ridge, SD to Eugene High Hawk, Sr. and Crystal (Thunder Horse) High Hawk. Aquinnah made her journey to the Spirit World on September 23, 2022 in Chadron, NE.
Aquinnah is survived by her father, Eugene High Hawk Sr; daughter Oakleigh High Hawk; goddaughter Iyahnna High Hawk; sisters, Michelle (Charlie Jr) Cummings, Nicole (Dustin) High Hawk, and Angelina High Hawk; brothers Warfield High Hawk and Spencer High Hawk; godmother Norma Moose; aunts Roberta Thunder Horse, Robyn (Lewis)Thunder Horse, and Martha Bad Bear; uncles Michael (April) Thunder Horse Sr, Robert Thunder Horse Jr, Bruce (Molina) Thunder Horse, Tony Serbousik, Melvin High Hawk Jr, and Delbert High Hawk; nieces Joselyn, Tate, Arianny, Kristanna, Nevaeh, and Bebe; nephews Charles, Caleb, Noah, and Brayden; and numerous cousins.
Aquinnah was preceded in death by her mother Crystal (Thunder Horse) High Hawk; brother Eugene Eric High Hawk Jr; grandmothers Lorene Hollow Horn and Vera (Moose) Bad Bear; grandfathers Robert Thunder Horse Sr and Melvin High Hawk Sr; and uncle Warfield Wayne High Hawk.
Pallbearers will be Joselyn Cummings, Tate High Hawk, Lynette Yellow Horse, Elaine Yellow Horse, Charlotte Thunder Horse, Lakeisha Alcott, Jill Yellow Horse, Aisha Helper-Brave, Anthonia Good Lance, and Lacey Yellow Horse.
