A 4-day anti-terrorism exercise kicked off Monday at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City.
Air Force officials say the exercise that is intended to evaluate the ability of the 28th Bomb Wing to respond to potential terrorist activity.
Ellsworth released information about the exercise because those near the base may periodically hear sirens and announcements over its “giant voice” system or may see emergency response vehicles.
The Air Force also warns that motorists may experience delays while entering and exiting the base during the exercise, so they should call prior to appointments and arrive early.
