The Gordon-Rushville Mustangs breezed through contests against the Crawford Rams Tuesday night at home. The Mustangs earned a 67-37 victory in the girls’ game and added a 65-48 win when the boys took the court.

In ladies’ action, the Mustangs raced out to a 21-0 lead before Kylah Vogel broke the drought for the Rams with a shot from behind the arc. With the score at 23-3 after one frame, Ashley Hunter and Britney Klein, two of the girls from Sioux County playing for the Rams this season, combined for three to make it 25-6 early in the second period. Vogel scored another five before half-time, when the Rams trailed 43-11.

Crawford adjusted after the break and went on a 13-11 run in the third quarter. Scoring was led by Kylah Vogel, Keslyn Vogel and Klein. Kylah Vogel added a jumper and a pair of free throws, while Klein also made two from the line and sunk a layup. Kelsyn Vogel came on strong at the end of the quarter, scoring five late to make it 54-24 in favor of Gordon-Rushville.

The teams paced each other in the final minutes, each adding 13 to their tally. For Crawford, Keslyn Vogel added another three, while Klein sank two treys of her own and added a free throw. Kaylee Juhnke, Whitlee Rudloff and Kamden Victory all netted free throws. Kylah Vogel and Klein led the Rams with 12 points each.
