The lingering winter storm is taking its toll on this weekend’s high school sports schedule in the Panhandle.
Tonight’s Chadron-Scottsbluff boys and girls basketball games in Chadron have been postponed until Jan 17 and tomorrow’s Chadron-Bridgeport doubleheader has been postponed with no make-up date announced yet.
Crawford’s games at Lusk were moved Jan 31 and the Gordon-Rushville games at Bennett County have been postponed with no new date yet.
The Edgemont-Morrill girls’ game in Edgemont is apparently still on even though the roads in the northern Panhandle are closed. Morrill said about 9:30 this morning the roads were clearing and they were preparing to leave.
A route through Wyoming has Hwy 26 is open to Lingle, but Hwy 85 from Lingle to Mule Creek is listed as no unnecessary travel.
      The Chadron boys and girls wrestling teams were supposed to be in Valentine this weekend but that meet has been canceled. A change of plans would have sent them to Sidney tomorrow, but that plan has also been nixed due to the weather.
Tomorrow’s boys and girls basketball games at Bridgeport have also been postponed with no date set for a makeup.
