Burial is at Grace Cemetery in Martin.
A one-night wake service starts Friday, Jan 6, at 3:00 at the Martin Activity Center in Martin with evening services at 7:00.
John “Dhose” Dillon Jr was born on March 26, 1948, in Pine Ridge to John Dillon Sr and Bertha (Bettelyoun) Dillon. John Jr made his journey to the Spirit World on December 27, 2022 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD.
John is survived by his wife Thelma Shangreaux; children Tammy Dillon, Jude Dillon, Sissy Jo Three Stars, Ben Marshall, Amber Siers, Joseph Marshall Jr, Tish Shangreaux, Jacoby Marshall, Cecelia Cottier, Charlie Cottier, and Francis Pack; brothers Lyle Dillon and Craig (Bonnie) Dillon; sisters Illa Lone Hill, Linda (Keith) Dillon-Louden, Iva Jo Ruff, and Donnell (Tom Fast Wolf Jr) Red Eyes; aunt Eva Martinez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, & cousins.
John was preceded in death by his parents John Sr and Bertha Dillon; grandson Jesse Roy Dillon; son Matthew Shangreaux; maternal grandparents George & Angeline (Richards) Bettelyoun; sister Cindy Red Eyes; brother Jerome Black Eyes; brother-in-law Francis “Sonny” Ruff; nephew Lyle Oliver Dillon; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be EG Ward, Russell Flye, JD Flye, Carl Standing Bear Sr, Doug O’Bryan, Gerard Brown Eyes, Kermit Randall, Sam Grey Eagle, David Bakley, and Falle Baker.
