Winter weather has delayed the sentencing of a Chadron man convicted of 2nd-degree murder for killing his sister’s common-law husband in 2021.
20-year old Ian “Sage” Little Moon of Chadron faces between a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life when he’s sentenced February 9th at 9:30 in Dawes County District Court.
Little Moon was originally scheduled for sentencing on Jan 11th, but scheduling issues pushed it back to yesterday, when storms in eastern Nebraska kept some of the attorneys from getting to Chadron.
Little Moon was convicted by a jury on Oct 28 of 2nd-degree murder in the July 23, 2021, shooting death of 72-year old John “JD” Martinez in Chadron.
