Bridgeport didn’t look very far to find the successor to Superintendent Chuck Lambert, who is leaving at the end of the school year for a similar position in the Wichita, KS, suburb of Rose Hill.
Bridgeport High School Principal George Schlothauer will take over from his current boss on a 2-year contract paying $145,000 the first year.
Before coming to Bridgeport as principal, Schlothauer had been Director of Alternative Education for ESU 13 and before that was principal of Gering High School.
Bridgeport is wasting little time in starting the search for his replacement as principal with Schlothauer and the board scheduled to conduct interviews next week.
