The Chadron State golf team is in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, played at Boulder Creek Golf Club, Sunday, April 23 through Tuesday, the 25.
Â
The Eagles competed in four fall tournaments and four more tournaments this spring in preparation for the championships.
Â
Three of the four spring tournaments were held in Arizona while the fourth was in Pueblo, Colorado.
Â
Four different golfers have led the team throughout the spring season.
Â
Jordan Grasis, a junior from Yuma, Arizona, finished tied eight in Arizona and was tied 35th with her teammate, Kenzey Kanno, a junior from Mitchell, in Pueblo this March.
Â
Brooke Kramer, a junior from Aurora, Colorado, led CSC at their second tournament in Arizona. Kramer finished in fifth place at the SMSU Spring Challenge, while Allison Acosta, a junior from Oro Valley, Arizona, was one stroke back in sixth place.
Â
A senior from Chadron, Alpine Hickstein, led the group in their final Arizona tournament of the season, finishing tied 61st.
Â
The Eagles have shot their two lowest rounds as a team in school history this spring.
Â
The first round of the season, CSC shot a 305 for their second best all-time.
Â
After shooting a 325 on day one in Pueblo, Chadron State responded with a 304 in round two for a new school record.
Â
Of the 15 schools entered in the Pueblo tournament, nine of them were teams that will be competing in the RMAC Championships this weekend. CSC finished 11th out of 15 teams at the Pack Classic, beating three RMAC schools.
Â
Last season, the Eagles finished eighth at the conference championships, which was played in Chandler, Arizona, at the Whirlwind Golf Club.
Â
The last time CSC golf was in Las Vegas they entered two different tournaments, where they finished second and third as a team.
